2 weeks ago, Dispatch lost contact with one our agents investigating reports of a spate of plant based anomalies in the Hagley Wood area of Birmingham, England. 4 local boys found her body a week after loss of contact. Post-mortem reports detail decomposition equivalent with a time of death almost 18 months ago. Identify the nature of the Hagley Wood trees, Contain them if necessary, Obfuscate their existence and all Bureau involvement.  I hope you like tea, agents – because the coffee's terrible.

OPERATION WYCH ELM is a REDACTED MATERIALS Operation for External Containment Bureau, inspired by the Day of the Triffids and the real life unsolved case of Who Put Bella in the Wych Elm?

Grapple with the strange nature of the Hagley Wood Elms, the overly curious locals, covert operations of World War 2 and the occasional air raid.

Made over a weekend during Con in the Dark 2022, this was a nice little project to do! Working on something completely different to my longform project As the Sun Forever Sets was a nice change of pace. External Containment Bureau's mission design lends itself really well to short form thematic ideas, and it was a lot of fun taking the opportunity to get into the nitty gritty with the graphic design. I'm looking forward to doing more like this in the future!
